At Rydahls, Johnny has a broad range of responsibilities spanning the design, development, and sales of braking systems. He is involved throughout the entire process, from initial concept development to certification, and also contributes to resolving issues related to friction.
Johnny’s degree in mechanical engineering forms the foundation of his technical skills, which he has further strengthened through courses in hydraulics. His extensive professional experience, including work in both civilian and military sectors, has contributed to his deep expertise. He has previously been employed in companies ranging from small to large and has held roles from sales engineer to head of design.
What Johnny finds most rewarding in his work is the ability to solve complex customer inquiries and deliver solutions that exceed customer expectations. Seeing an entire machine rig equipped with a prototype system for validation, or delivering customer-specific brake components, are particularly satisfying moments for him.
In his spare time, Johnny is a true inventor and a hobby photographer. He is also active in the Church of Sweden and serves as a board member of the Karlstad Pastorate. Among his favorite activities are organizing parties, watching films, and reading—visiting the library is always considered a bonus.
On a lighter note, Johnny has experienced many amusing moments at work, but in true gentlemanly fashion, he keeps those stories to himself. And if he could choose a superpower to use at work, it would be the ability to speak several languages, such as French and Spanish.
Johnny has delivered several creative solutions throughout his career, including the development of heavy-duty recovery vehicles and the design of an assembly machine for gas generators that deploy airbags in the event of a collision. But the most exciting project at Rydahls—we’ll have to wait to hear about that. It’s confidential 😊
